The Movement Continues
Leslye Oquendo-Thomas launched her campaign for Westchester County Legislator because District 17 deserves leadership that listens to people—not political insiders. After serving Yonkers City Council for 12 years, Leslye was fired on February 5, 2026, one day after circulating a flyer seeking campaign volunteers for her County Legislator run. Rather than walk away, she built a grassroots campaign powered by neighbors, volunteers, and working families.
Without endorsements from any sitting official or major donors, this movement raised more than $35,000 and came within four votes in the Democratic primary.
Now, we are taking this fight to the general election.
Leslye is STILL running this November for County Legislator, District 17 on the Working Families Party line—because every community deserves representation, not just the well-connected.

Who is Leslye?
Leslye Oquendo-Thomas grew up navigating the very systems she now works to improve. A trilingual small business owner, mother of two, and longtime Yonkers resident, she has spent over a decade inside city government fighting for families facing housing instability, benefit delays, and bureaucratic roadblocks.
She’s not in this for insiders or special interests — she’s in this for the people. With deep community roots and a proven record of delivering results, Leslye is ready to make government work for working families from Day One.
